John Part 2.

I did imply in JOHN PART 1 that there will be a part two. THE WAIT is over. you can sleep assured that it has arrived!

I can hear the cheers and the fireworks going off.

party two is really boring. just photos and a stupid opening. YAY!!!!!

OMG it’s a canteen. too bad it’s not like the one in star wars. I don’t think star trek had a really cool canteen in it.

Little baby gas mask.

While in the kindergarten we came across a few of these small gas masks that the children would have worn. It must have been a traumatic experience for the little boys and girls not knowing whats going on and why they have to wear these masks.

Obligatory rooftop photo.

The jupiter factory in pripyat offically made tapes. what the world didn’t know at the time was that it made electronics for nuclear war heads.

chernobyl video.

While walking around taking in all the lives that got left behind in pripyat and chernobyl i took 44 minuts of footage.  The resulting video is what came out of those 44 minuets.

while walking in one of the many buiildings in pripyat we stumbled upon this particular gas mask. this one was in a factory yard amungst debris of leaves in the middle of the yard.

Chernobyl Pripyat

The chernobyl disaster is one of the most horrible things that has occurred. it has ruined so many lives and keeps affecting people to this day. Many people have died or gotten sick from the radiation fallout.

having said that it is one of the ‘meccas’ of abandoments around the globe. There are so many buildings left abandoned and looted.

while you are there you do feel the overwhelming sadness of the place and somehow feel bad for taking a tour there just to take photos.

My fascination with the Chernobyl disaster didn’t start when I began exploring abandoned buildings. can’t give a great explanation to why it has fascinated me but the chernobyl disaster has always been something that I have always researched and learnt about in my free time.

To visit this region of area that has been decimated by radiation and the fallout has been something that i have wanted to do for a long time. The sense of sadness that i felt whilst there was more than what i excepted to feel.

There will be more photos to come i am just looking through the many that I took and processing them as i go along. It’s a long process as I’m a lazy person.

Banned from facebook.

As much as we all hate facebook and despise the rules set upon us from facebook, we do need it. it’s a great way to share information on a mass scale. post stupid with you and your mates, do a check-in (fucking hate them!) and share videos from YouTube about monkeys attacking a car full of tourists.

Every now and then I would post a photo that could be deemed offensive or inappropriate. That wont stop me posting photos. If you don’t like it don’t comment on it. If you get sick of my photos then defriend. IF you don’t like it make a groaning noise and look away. Simple.

You would think it was that easy. No.

The other week I clicked on the bookmark for facebook. a different screen came up from the news feed.

Ok so it’s not the most tasteful photos and they are naked, but you don’t see cock or arse. Sure jesus is covering their bits but it was easter. what did you want my to do? have santa cover their junk? that would just be weird.

I clicked on continue and facebook told me off and said i was a bad boy. blah blah blah!

I thought that would be the end of my slap on the wrist. No. I got a banned for 24 hours. really facebook? you think that’s going to stop me posting photos?

I don’t know who reported the photo could have been a ‘friend’ of mine or a friend from one of the two people tagged in the photo.

This hasn’t been my first ban on facebook and it won’t be the last.

John Part 1.

this place out in a country town was BIG. it’s pretty much all demolished now. We were glad to have gone there while it was still in the process of getting torn down. It was a big factory with two main warehouses, a manufacturing area, canteen, HUGE office block, a guard-house and other smaller buildings in the land.

In one of the smaller buildings that i was going to bypass the first time I visited (trespassed) john had personal records from when the company first started. You could spend hours in there reading all the employee records and come of the questions that people got asked when starting a new job.

in the medical offices there was still records of people and what they were treated for at John.

This is a concern as they company just left them there and didn’t give a shit about peoples personal information.

In one of the tea rooms some of the guys must have had a blast on a fishing trip as they posted photos of it all over the walls. they caught some really big fish but most of the photos consisted of people with beers in their hands and smiles on their face.

That wall had been half torn down the second time I went to John.

The Anonymous Motel.

This anonymous Motel isn’t that anonymous anymore. That’s WLGS named it when we  heard about this amazing yet tacky motel outside of Melbourne. I was heading down that way to visit a friend for the day. I had a look on Google to see if there’s anything abandoned that I could go out and take photos of whilst I’m over that way. This was one of the sites that we found.

TAM 2

The stained glass windows were perfect! they weren’t broken that much and no graff on them. SWEET!!!!!

TAM 6

TAM 1

It really was an ugly place but it did have great charm to it from being so tacky that it was fun to photograph.

TAM 5

About 2-3 months after we posted these with no identifying marks to the building, the name of it or where it is one person went to it and posted an outside photo of it and called the album on flickr y the name of the motel. it soon became trashed and the windows were spray painted over. It wasn’t too long before this place was trashed and wrecked. People are dumb.

UNICEF

WLGS had this site on our target for a long time. we got lazy and there was always next week to do it. this happened too often when we tried to organise a meet up to explore this building. A couple of us decided to go and explore ‘unicef’ before it got trashed by vandals and the graffers. This was one of the riskier sites that we had been to. It was situated on a live site. A live site for those that don’t know is a site that is still worked on or occupied by people or workers.

There were people working in the factory and driving forklifts just 20 meters away from the building. In order to get to the building we had to jump a fence that was on a main street. As we jumped the fence and avoided the people working on the site we made our way into the building.

It was just what we had imagined and more.

The beauty of the peeling paint and the natural decay is a really awesome site to see.

Revolving doors!!!!!

IMG_1405

There was/ still is old computers and typewriters on one of the rooms.

IMG_1094

I hope to visit this place when i get back but i doubt that it’s going to be the same. There have been signs of vandalism there as people don’t know how to keep a location a secret.
